Hello, world! Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I occasionally share random thoughts, ramblings, and snippets of my life. Explore these pages and you can learn a lot about me. Here’s a little background just to get you started.
My name is Malinee (which rhymes with martini). The name is Thai and basically means jasmine.
Artist. I’m a creative soul and I like to make things. From drawing and painting to digital art to sewing and crafts, I like to play around and, sometimes, something new is born. If you want to see more about my art, check out Malinee’s Playground.
Musician. As an active musician & performer, I consider myself a “dedicated hobbyist.” I sing, play guitar and flute, and can occasionally be found performing in community theatre and opera productions. Check out the Musical Martini page for information about my current musical endeavors.
Geek. What can I say? I’m a fan of science fiction & fantasy, video games (especially RPGs), anime, and comic books. I also discovered the world of comic cons and cosplay relatively late in life – and I’m hooked! I even have a Facebook page dedicated to my cosplay and geek life. I’d be thrilled if you gave me a follow.
Mom (and wife, sister, daughter, friend). Many relationships shape my life, but being a parent has probably provided the most interesting, thought-provoking, and gratifying experiences. I am the proud mother of a genderqueer (nonbinary) college student who also happens to have the variety of autism spectrum disorder commonly referred to as Asperger Syndrome.
Human. An imperfect creature with passions, fears, hopes, doubts, and dreams. I’m just doing my best.
